Fardin Akrami, MD - American Board of Internal
Medicine
Dr. Akrami is a Board Certified Internist with close to 20 years of
experience in the medical field. He attended Tehran University
of Medical Science and graduated in 1991. After he and his family
moved to the United States, Dr. Akrami did two years research at John
Hopkins University Hospital. Dr. Akrami did his internal medicine
residency at William Beaumont from 2002 to 2005. He is affiliated
with major hospitals in Northern Virginia including Alexandria, Fairfax,
and Potomac Hospital. His focus is on quality of care with high
technology preventive medicine.
Dr. Akrami evaluates and treats patients 16 years of age and older.
His particular area of interest is managing complex heath problems,
chronic infections, and conditions such as Diabetes and Hypertension.

Preventive
Health Care
My goal for every patient is to focus on prevention and early detection
of serious diseases. Our office may suggest exams, tests, and lifestyle
modifications that we feel are important for disease protection. Some
services that help us detect serious diseases are:

Women's Health and Gynecologic
Care
Our office provides routine gynecologic services in our office with
a focus on total body and mind wellness. Our Women's Health
Services include:

with menopause)

Laboratory and Radiology Services
Our office can perform the following office procedures. You should
receive notification of lab results by phone within three weeks of your
test, often sooner. If your results require immediate notification,
we will contact you by phone and follow up with an appointment.
School and Sports Physicals
If you are enrolling in a school or college that requires immunizations,
we can provide this service and complete any associated paperwork. Examples
include Flu, pneumonia, tetanus, MMR, hepatitis A & B, Varicella
(Chicken pox) and PPD (tuberculosis). We can also perform sports physicals
or clear you for an exercise program.

with an appointment day and time.
Scheduled appointments are the responsibility of the patient
to honor. A 24 Hour Notice is required for
cancellation of appointments, or there will be a charge if
you are already an established patient. There are same day
appointments for emergencies, also depending on the Doctor's
full schedule. However, please do not hesitate to call and
our office will make every effort to see you.
For emergencies we provide a paging phone number to all existing patients
of Dr. Akrami. Please use this number only in case of emergency. Thank

New Patients
We welcome new patients! Our office would be delighted to meet your healthcare needs.
We highly recommend you read, print and fill out the Patient Forms located on our web site on the Patient Forms page.
On your first visit we ask that you arrive at least 30 minutes early if you have not filled out your paper work. Please bring your insurance card, and any medications you are taking and any co-payment or deductible. Having your medical records from previous physicians will aid our office in your treatment.
Billing and Insurance
Billing and insurance questions may be directed to the office
at 703-910-7390 weekdays from 9:00 AM to
4:00 PM.
All insurance co-payments and deductibles are due at the time of service.
As a courtesy to our patients we file claims with your primary and secondary
insurances. If you change your insurer please notify our office prior
to your appointment. If we do not have a contracted arrangement with
your insurance plan, you will be expected to pay in full at the time
of service.
Our office accepts most major insurance policies: Anthem, Guardian,
Virginia Health Network, Aetna, Virginia Workman's Compensation, Care
First, Cigna, Humana, Medicare, Medicaid, PHCS, Tricare.
Payments can be made with cash, check, or major credit cards at the
time of service. If you are a self pay patient please pay by credit
card or cash only at time of service. Thank You.

Internists we serve as your primary care physicians, coordinating
